Jarvis Leverett headed to Kansas State

After tearing his ACL last season, Jarvis Leverett (Houston/Cypress Lakes) stepped on the field at the start of two-a-days feeling like he had something to prove. Few outside of the greater Houston area knew what he could do as a running back. Among those who had an idea of his talents were the recruiters at Kansas State. Leverett went to a football camp in Manhattan, Kan., and caught the eye of K-State's Dana Dimel. From there, Leverett managed to build a relationship with the Wildcats and, eventually, be rewarded for his hard work with a scholarship offer. Late Wednesday night, Leverett accepted the offer and made a verbal pledge to Dimel, coach Bill Snyder and the rest of the Wildcats. Leverett, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound senior, chose K-State over Colorado and Texas Tech.
