Devonte Fields talks up uncommitted teammates

It was a big shot by four-star defensive end Devonte Fields that gave Martin (Arlington, Texas) a boost and made city rival Bowie (Arlington, Texas) began to feel it was cursed. Fields, a TCU commit, knocked Bowie quarterback -- and future TCU teammate -- Kolby Listenbee out of Saturday's game with a second-quarter hit. That hit started a domino effect of sorts, as Bowie then lost its backup quarterback, sophomore Keaton Perry, to a knee injury four minutes later. By the second half, Bowie was using a quarterback by committee in a game Martin eventually won, 39-22. Fields received a lot of publicity for a solid defensive performance overall, but the 6-foot-5, 240-pound defensive end wanted to talk more about what his teammates did, primarily those who are still uncommitted.
