Shakiel Randolph happy with SMU decision

With recruiters, the first word that comes up when describing Shakiel Randolph (Hewitt, Texas/Midway) is versatile. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound recruit runs a 4.40 40-yard dash, bench presses over 300 pounds and can play several positions on the field. However, he has honed his skills primarily at the safety spot. As the three-star athlete prepares for college life at SMU, Randolph continues to focus not only on a career in the secondary but also being as versatile as possible on the field. "I had heard that I'd play anywhere from outside linebacker to safety from some schools," Randolph said. "What I was hearing out of Notre Dame, they were talking about putting me on offense at either tight end or receiver. It makes you feel good and makes you want to work harder. I'm just trying to prove that I can play anywhere you want me."
