The latest on Coyotes' ownership saga
By Doug McIntyre
There are several parties interested in purchasing the troubled Phoenix Coyotes, including at least one that previously showed interest in buying the club, unnamed sources tell Sporting News scribe Jesse Spector.
Spector reports that one-time Arizona Attorney General Grant Woods is working with multiple potential bidders to secure the franchise, and that Ice Edge Holdings, a group that previously tried to buy the Coyotes as part of Greg Jamison’s ultimately unsuccessful bid, might be among them.
So too could be Bill Gallacher, owner of the WHL's Portland Winterhawks.
"Gallacher and Ice Edge could also work together on bid," Spector writes. "He could keep the Coyotes in Phoenix or try to move them to Portland."
