Laich nearing return?
By Victoria Matiash
Goodness knows, the Washington Capitals could use the services of their 29-year-old winger. And it seems Brooks Laich (groin) is nearing his return after sitting out the start of the regular season.
As relayed by The Washington Times, the head coach of the Capitals suggests Laich could take contact in practice soon.
"You know what? He said he felt a lot better. He looks a lot better," Adam Oates said Tuesday. "It's one of those situations where I got to trust the trainers and doctors in terms of evaluation, how soon. I don't know. Sometimes it might linger, sometimes it might just go to that next level and feel great ... I think he's really close to contact ..."
Laich has been skating with the team in practice of late. He suffered the groin injury while competitng in Switzerland during the NHL lockout.
