Visnovsky's arrival date (update)
UPDATE: Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky could make his debut for the New York Islanders as early as this weekend.
Outlining the D-man's hectic schedule following arrival in New York, Newsday's Arthur Staple suggests Visnovsky's physical is scheduled for Thursday morning. If all goes well, the veteran is expected to take part in team practice Friday, and make his season debut on Saturday versus the Buffalo Sabres.

The New York Islanders may have Lubomir Visnovsky in their fold earlier than anticipated.
As relayed by Lighthouse Hockey, Visnovsky told Slovakian sports site sport.sk he intends to leave his homeland on Wednesday -- days ahead of his son's scheduled surgery. The veteran defenseman implied that his return to competitive action has become a priority.
"... Surgery is still Feb. 9. The doctors, my wife, and I decided I do not need to stay ... I can't play for Slovan anyway, so it is wasted time and I want to play for him ..."
The fact that the Islanders have been playing well (4-2-1) probably doesn't hurt as incentive either.
Once Visnovsky is active, Lighthouse Hockey's Dominik suggests the Isles will have a significant decision (or two) to make.
"... If Visnovsky joins the team and comes off suspension in the next week or so, the Islanders will have some roster moves to make. (Forward) Josh Bailey is also inching toward a return, so barring further injuries, someone will be hitting waivers ..."
