Sabres' D-men in doghouse (update)

By Victoria Matiash

UPDATE: Defenseman Tyler Myers could be a spectator when the Buffalo Sabres visit the New York Islanders Saturday.

Reporter John Vogl of the Buffalo News:

"Not certain yet, but based on first half of morning skate, Sabres might scratch Tyler Myers."

Defensemen Tyler Myers and Jordan Leopold of the Buffalo Sabres haven't played all that well of late. So, according to the Buffalo News, the head coach of the Sabres could sit one of them for Saturday's matinee in Montreal. Young T.J. Brennan could sub in instead.

"I've got one healthy defenseman, and the option is to use him, to buy a little bit of time," Lindy Ruff said. "We know they both can play. They struggled. It's no different that a lot of teams will have a guy struggling, and we’ve got to try to get them through it ... There's different ways of getting through it. Sometimes if you rest them, let them watch a game, it helps them. Sometimes you can let them work their way."

Brennan has only suited up once for the Sabres this season.
