Setback for Baertschi

By Victoria Matiash

The 20-year-old's rookie season isn't off to an ideal start.

The Calgary Sun reports Sven Baertschi is considered "week-to-week" with a hip flexor issue. He suffered the injury during Tuesday's practice.

"I was skating and my left skate seemed to have caught a rut in the ice and my legs kind of went into a splits position," Baertschi explained in a statement. "I felt pain immediately and left the ice to have it checked. It’s very disappointing to learn that it’s a hip flexor injury that will keep me out of the lineup."

For now, Steve Begin or Tim Jackman could draw back into the lineup in Baertschi's absence.
