Update re: Callahan's injury
By Victoria Matiash
UPDATE: Nine days after suffering a shoulder subluxation, Ryan Callahan appears ready to re-join the New York Rangers' lineup.
The Record's Andrew Gross suggests Callahan's participation in morning practice -- on the third line with Chris Kreider and J.T. Miller -- indicates the squad's captain is poised to compete when the Rangers host the New York Islanders Thursday evening.
In what can only be construed as good news for the New York Rangers, forward Ryan Callahan isn't expected to miss much time with a shoulder subluxation (partial separation, sorta) suffered during Tuesday's victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Andrew Gross from The Record reports 10 days to two weeks is the predicted recovery time.
Callahan suffered the injury during an altercation with Flyers' forward Maxime Talbot. It looked a lot worse at the time.
While Callahan recovers, Kris Newbury could be recalled from Connecticut.
