Mitchell (finally) on track

By Victoria Matiash

As far as we can tell, defenseman Willie Mitchell could rejoin the Los Angeles Kings' lineup any moment now.

As reported by the Los Angeles Times, the latest MRI done on Mitchell's surgically-repaired knee tells a positive story.

"There was no structural damage and no setback," General Manager Dean Lombardi said Tuesday. Mitchell was medically cleared to play last week, and the decision to return remains his alone. The veteran D-man's recovery from knee surgery has taken longer than initially anticipated.

The Kings -- who engaged Jake Muzzin once Matt Greene fell to injury -- would certainly benefit from having Mitchell back on the ice and in the dressing room.
