Hamonic's injury
By Victoria Matiash
The ankle sprain suffered by defenseman Travis Hamonic clearly isn't as bad as all that.
According to Newsday's Arthur Staple, the defenseman proclaims he'll be good to go when the New York Islanders visit the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.
"I'm ready to play," Hamonic insisted. "I wouldn't put myself at risk physically or be a liability if I wasn't ready to play."
If the Islanders aren't quite as confident, Radek Martinek is expected to fill in. The 36-year-old veteran D-man has yet to suit up for the Isles this season.
