Severity of Landeskog's injuries
By Victoria Matiash
The injuries keeping Gabriel Landeskog out of action may not be as nasty as originally thought.
The Colorado Avalanche is upgrading Landeskog's timetable for recovery to "possibly day-to-day" from "out indefinitely" -- according to Adrian Dater of the Denver Post. The Avs' captain suffered head and leg injuries after absorbing a massive hit from San Jose Sharks defenseman Brad Stuart on Saturday. It's not known if Landeskog is suffering from a concussion.
"Day-to-day" suggests the dynamic forward could return for the Avs within a couple of weeks.
Regardless, with Landeskog on the shelf and Steve Downie out for the rest of the season, the re-signing of Ryan O'Reilly becomes that much more urgent.
