Subban's season debut
By Victoria Matiash
With the business of signing a fresh two-year, $5.75 million deal out of the way, defenseman P.K. Subban can finally look forward to suiting up for the Montreal Canadiens once again. However, even though the 23-year-old is expected to re-join the Canadiens Wednesday, he may not take part in his first game until Saturday.
LNH.com's Arpon Basu: "Can't see Subban suiting up for (Canadiens) Wed. with only a morning skate under his belt. Saturday at home against (Sabres) makes way more sense."
Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette: "Give (Subban) a few days before you see him in (Habs) lineup. I'd guess this weekend for sure; Wednesday in Ottawa is a REAL longshot."
As for who drops out of the lineup, Stubbs suggests two blue-liners stick out as top candidates.
"The signing won’t be good news for Tomas Kaberle and/or Yannick Weber unless the Canadiens decide to keep eight defenceman and use Weber for spot duty as a forward ..."
