Gill is up for grabs
By Victoria Matiash
Defenseman Hal Gill could have a new NHL home shortly. Josh Cooper of the Tennessean reports the Nashville Predators have placed the veteran on waivers. As far as Predators GM David Poile is concerned, the draft acquisition of Seth Jones has rendered Gill irrelevant in Nashville.
Owed $2 million in 2013-14 -- the final year of his contract -- Gill will likely be snagged by another NHL club. Coveted for his leadership qualities, the 38-year-old could serve as a great mentor to young defensemen.
