Bieksa eyes return
By Victoria Matiash
After missing five games with a lower-body injury, defeseman Kevin Bieksa appears set to make his return for the Vancouver Canucks. The Vancouver Sun reports coach Alain Vigneault is leaning toward throwing Bieksa back out there for the regular-season finale against the Edmonton Oilers.
"Even though I didn't talk to Kevin after (Friday's) practice, he looked good and, if I was a betting man, I would say he would probably be coming into the lineup," Vigneault said. "I think health-wise, he's fine. He's had some good practices so his best thing is probably to play."
Bieksa is expected to skate with Alexander Edler at even-strength, and see some second-unit power-play action. If Vigneault decides to go with the Frank Corrado/Andrew Alberts as his third pairing, Keith Ballard and Derek Joslin are the perceived odd-men out.
