It appears as though defenseman Michael Caruso is about to make his NHL debut.
According to George Richards of the Miami Herald, Caruso is "tabbed" to compete for the Florida Panthers in Saturday's opener against the Carolina Hurricanes, while Dmitry Kulikov and Mike Weaver are expected to sit out.
However, the 24-year-old's NHL stint isn't likely to last long. While Kulikov should be ready to go next game, Weaver (minor injury) isn't expected to miss much time either. Caruso has spent the last four seasons competing in the AHL (Rochester Americans, San Antonio Rampage).
