UPDATE: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune confirms the Minnesota Wild have assigned goalie Josh Harding to the AHL for a conditioning stint. The Houston Aeros have three games remaining on their regular-season schedule -- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
"I felt quick," Harding said Wednesday. "I thought I was making the saves I should have made. Each day's a new step, but I'm definitely happy on how (Wednesday) went. I felt like my old self, which is good to feel like."
Harding has been stuck on the injured shelf for a couple of months after his body reacted poorly to new MS medication. He appeared in four games for the Wild at the start of the 2012-13 campaign. The Aeros wrap up their regular season with three straight games -- next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Once that conditioning stint is complete, a No. 2 role with the Wild could once again be in the cards. Darcy Kuemper is currently serving as back-up to Niklas Backstrom.
***Goalie Josh Harding could make his return to competitive action next weekend. Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Harding is likely to join the AHL Houston Aeros for a couple of games to close out the club's regular season. Harding reportedly felt, and looked, good while participating in practice with the Minnesota Wild for the first time in two months.
