Bergeron's health (update)
By Victoria Matiash
UPDATE: The Boston Globe reports Patrice Bergeron is likely to compete Wednesday, when the Boston Bruins host the Buffalo Sabres.
Bergeron is expected to center a line with Milan Lucic and Tyler Seguin. Monday's contest against Ottawa Senators was postponed in light of the bombings at the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
Good news for fans of the Boston Bruins: Forward Patrice Bergeron (concussion) could be back in the lineup before too long. As relayed by the Boston Globe, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli told listeners of the Toucher & Rich radio show (98.5 The Sports Hub) that Bergeron is practicing and "on the road to recovery ..."
"So it looks good," added Chiarelli. "He's working out and things are looking good."
Bergeron was said to be optimistic about making his return to the lineup after being examined by a well-regarded concussion expert last Friday. The 27-year-old center suffered the fourth documented concussion of his NHL career against the Ottawa Senators last Tuesday. At present, there's no timetable in place for his return.
