How Nash's presence boosts Rangers
By Doug McIntyre
Rick Nash was everywhere during the New York Rangers 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning Thursday night, firing off 12 shots and scoring a nifty goal in his return to the Blueshirts' lineup after 11 days on the sidelines with an undisclosed injury.
But as much as having Nash back adds to the Rangers in terms of production, his biggest contribution may the way his presence in the lineup lifts the performances of those around him.
“You can see that we’re a different team when he’s on the ice,” Rangers captain Ryan Callahan said after the game to the New York Post's Larry Brooks, who notes that struggling Brad Richards "played with an extra jump in his step and extra crispness in his game in being reunited with Nash, the effect of No. 61’s return cascading through the lineup."
