Fallout from Wisniewski injury

By Victoria Matiash

Looks like the Columbus Blue Jackets are forced to deal with yet another tough break. According to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch, defenseman James Wisniewski is out "long-term" with broken bone in foot. Sadly for the Blue Jackets, "long-term" could mean most (if not all) of the rest of the regular season.

With Wisniewski out and Jack Johnson on the injured reserve list -- considered day-to-day with an upper body injury -- the door is wide open for several young D-men to make the right impression, while earning some serious minutes at the NHL level. Tim Erixon, David Savard, John Moore, and Cody Goloubef (recently recalled from the AHL), will battle each other for three spots in the lineup until Johnson is ready to return.
