Brodeur eyeing another Olympics
By Doug McIntyre
When Martin Brodeur signed a two-year contract extension with the New Jersey Devils last summer, many weren't convinced that the future Hall of Fame goaltender would see the entire term out.
Well, not only did Brodeur confirm this week that he has every intention of returning for a 21st NHL season in 2013-14 (at the least), he's also hoping for another trip to the Olympics -- next winter's Sochi Games would be his fifth -- with Team Canada.
"I didn't even know if I would be playing in 2014 and I will be playing next year" Brodeur told Sportsnet's Ian Mendes. "So if they feel like I'm still capable of helping them out in any way, for me it's a great honor to be a part of Team Canada."
