More responsibility for Leddy
By Victoria Matiash
While Brent Seabrook takes time to recover from what the Chicago Blackhawks are calling a lower-body injury, fellow blueliner Nick Leddy is in for a promotion of sorts. Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune suggests Leddy is a "candidate to move up to the No. 1 defenseman pairing with Duncan Keith". Presumably this applies to even-strength play as well as with the extra skater.
Leddy dominated in power-play ice-time earlier this season, but Keith and Seabrook have re-seized the reigns in that regard. Although the 21-year-old has still enjoyed his fair share of opportunities with the man-advantage.
In any case, Seabrook isn't expected to miss too much action.
"(Seabrook) is day-to-day," Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said Tuesday. "Hopefully we'll get him on the ice in the next day or so."
