Fallout from Strait injury
By Victoria Matiash
Defenseman Brian Strait could be done for the year. Newsday reports the 25-year-old member of the New York Islanders' blue line is out six to eight weeks with a broken ankle. Fortunately, the Islanders are anticipating the return of another key D-man.
To accommodate for Strait's absence, Thomas Hickey is expected to draw back into the lineup until Matt Carkner (lower-body injury) is ready to go -- as early as this week. And the Isles have activated Radek Martinek (groin) off injured reserve.
