Wild turn to prospects
By Victoria Matiash
Forward Jason Zucker is expected to make his NHL season debut for the Minnesota Wild this weekend. Zucker, along with fellow prospect Johan Larsson, was yanked up from the AHL ahead of Sunday's game against the Detroit Red Wings. The game would be Larsson's first ever in the NHL. Zucker appeared in six contests for the Wild in 2011-12.
According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Wild GM Chuck Fletcher said both young forwards "earned the right to get a look". Zucker leads the Houston Aeros with 41 points (19 goals) in 47 games. Larsson has 27 points in 50 games.
Michael Russo suggests Pierre-Marc Bouchard (under the weather), Torrey Mitchell, and Zenon Konopka are potential candidates to sit out, assuming Cal Clutterbuck is good to go.
