Blues could ride Allen
By Victoria Matiash
UPDATE: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch confirms Jake Allen will make his third consecutive start for the St. Louis Blues against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.
In light of how well Jake Allen is performing for the St. Louis Blues, goalie Jaroslav Halak may get a couple of extra days to recover from his groin injury.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Blues could ditch the original plan of starting Halak Sunday against the Vancouver Canucks, and ride the rookie instead. Allen stopped 30 of 32 shots to secure a 5-2 victory over the Calgary Flames on Friday. Halak hasn't played since Feb. 1 but apparently feels pretty good at present.
Meanwhile, Brian Elliott continues to work with the Blues' coaches in the hope of returning to his dominant form from last season. Elliott hasn't played well this campaign -- particularly in his last four starts.
