Barrie's opportunity

By Victoria Matiash

With Erik Johnson (head injury) out indefinitely, the Colorado Avalanche is heaping a fresh load of responsibility on the shoulders of its youngest blueliner. As mentioned by the Denver Post, Tyson Barrie appears to be the defenseman of choice to anchor the club's top power-play unit.

So far, so good. Barrie logged nearly 26 minutes of ice-time and assisted on Milan Hejduk's power-play goal in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over the Minnesota Wild.
