Iggy's groin issue
By Victoria Matiash
UPDATE: According to the Calgary Herald, "all indications are the (Calgary) Flames expect (Jarome) Iginla to be in the lineup for Sunday's season-opener against the San Jose Sharks at the Saddledome ..." The veteran forward could make his return to practice as early as Wednesday.
"The Captain is doing very well. You know what? He's doing so well that he is begging me to let him on the ice," said Flames head coach Bob Hartley.
"Obviously, he is the best judge. The medical staff are very comfortable with Jarome being on the ice, so (Wednesday) morning, he's going to come in, we're going to test him in the gym, and if everything feels good, he is going to be on the ice."

Jarome Iginla isn't 100 percent to start this compact 2012-13 season. As reported by the Calgary Herald, the Calgary Flames captain is sidelined with a groin issue. However, the injury appears to be relatively minor. Flames coach Bob Hartley suggested the squad is playing it safe because it's only training camp.
"We just can't afford this (losing Iginla for games)," said Hartley. "If we were playing tonight, most likely he'd be in the lineup. But I've got to be more on the safe side than giving him the green light because he wants to be there."
Word has it Iginla tweaked his groin while skating last week.
"It feels pretty good," the 35-year-old winger said Sunday. "But it's a slight pull. I want to be ready. It's hard to watch ... Hopefully, it's literally one more day."
