Montoya's big chance with Jets
By Doug McIntyre
Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers could be the biggest of Al Montoya's 13-year professional career.
The Winnipeg Jets goaltender will get a second consecutive start after filling in for the flu-ridden Ondrej Pavelec on Saturday and blanking the Ottawa Senators in sometimes spectacular fashion. It was Montoya's first shutout this season and third of the 27-year-old's up-and-down NHL career.
Given Pavelec's struggles this season, so it's not surprising that Montoya gets another chance following his flawless, 33-save performance against the Sens. If he can put on another effective display against Philadelphia, the job will officially become his to lose.
