Cammalleri's status
By Luke Lapinski
With only three wins so far and Miikka Kiprusoff out for at least Monday's game, the Calgary Flames need all the offense they can get right now. So a prolonged absence by Mike Cammalleri would be a setback. Fortunately, it appears he should be able to return soon.
In fact, according to the Calgary Herald, Cammalleri is expected to be back as soon as tomorrow for the club's tilt with Minnesota. The 30-year old winger has broken the 80-point barrier twice in his career, and has hit goal totals as high as 39 (during the 2008-09 campaign), so there's clearly offensive upside here. And last year, he managed 20 tallies despite bouncing from Montreal to Calgary midseason. Getting him back in the lineup -- ideally in time for the matchup with the division rival Wild -- would be a big deal for Bob Hartley's group.
