UPDATE: As we pointed out earlier in the week, quite a bit would have to fall into place before Detroit would be able to re-sign Daniel Cleary. Ansar Khan of mlive.com concedes that the simple fact that the gritty vet hasn't signed elsewhere yet means there's still a chance he ends up back with the Red Wings, but not without a lot of roster shuffling. If that means a trade is necessary, Khan suggests Jordin Tootoo or Patrick Eaves might be the most likely candidates to be moved. Detroit has a pretty solid lineup as is though, and likely doesn't want to shake things up too much. At the same time, Cleary has proven to be valuable to the organization over the last eight seasons. Our own Craig Custance has more below on the 34-year old's future.
