The Washington Capitals have one last glaring piece of business to take care of before settling down for the summer. As discussed by Neil Greenberg in the Washington Post, restricted free agent forward, and valued piece of the Capitals' puzzle, Marcus Johansson requires a new contract. Crunching the numbers (Greenberg's area of expertise) and comparing Johansson to members of the 2009 and 2008 draft class, the fancy stats aficionado suggests the 22-year-old forward merits an average annual salary that falls somewhere between figures earned by Colin Wilson of the Nashville Predators ($2 million*) and Matt Duchene of the Colorado Avalanche ($3.5 million).
