Goaltender Tim Thomas isn't ready to call it a career quite yet. As first reported by ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun, Thomas has asked his agent, Bill Zito, to "explore" what's out there in terms of playing opportunities. Assuming the New York Islanders won't toll Thomas' contract, the veteran netminder will become an unrestricted free agent on Friday. As discussed by ESPNNY.com's Katie Strang, the Philadelphia Flyers are one of several teams that may have an interest in Thomas.
