Avs don't plan to trade Stastny

Despite rumors to the contrary, and even though the center is owed $6.6 million in the final year of his contract, a trade involving Paul Stastny is, by far, no slam dunk. As discussed by ESPN Insider Craig Custance, the Colorado Avalanche appears to be leaning toward holding onto the 27-year-old. As for the excess of centermen that might inspire -- particularly if the Avalanche drafts center Nathan MacKinnon first overall, as pledged -- the head coach/VP of hockey ops in Colorado has a plan.
