UPDATE: Done. The Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to an eight-year, $76-million contract extension with Evgeni Malkin. The elite forward is in position to earn an average annual salary of $9.5 million from 2014-15 until 2021-22. The deal can't be officially signed until July 5th.
