Colorado's next coach?

If not Patrick Roy, if not Dean Chynoweth, maybe the current bench boss of the Phoenix Coyotes might be the ideal figure to fill the head-coaching vacancy with the Colorado Avalanche. Dave Tippett's current contract with the Coyotes expires June 30; and the uncertainties in regards to ownership and relocation could push the 51-year-old to pursue employment options elsewhere. Mike Chambers of the Denver Post suggests Tippett would be a "home-run hire" for the Colorado club.

He led the low-budget Coyotes to the Western Conference Finals last season, his second trip to the league’s final four, and has said he doesn’t need to work for a team that doesn’t spend to the cap to succeed ..."
