Just because former Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Mark Eaton was released from his professional tryout contract with the Pens' AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre (Penn.) on Wednesday doesn't mean the big club has closed the door on resigning him.
That's the word from Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, who reports that the 35-year-old Eaton -- who won a Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2009 -- "absolutely is a legit candidate to be signed."
