The Anaheim Ducks will hire longtime NHL goaltender Dwayne Roloson as a consultant to work with the organization's young backstops, reports Eric Stephens of the Orange Country Register.
Roloson would work primarily with the AHL Norfolk (Va.) Admirals, the Ducks top minor league affiliate, according to Stephens.
The move will officially end the 43-year-old's playing career. Roloson, an unrestricted free agent, was hoping to play this season but couldn't find a taker. The 16-year veteran spent the last two years with the Tampa Bay Lightning, leading the Bolts to game seven of the 2011 Western Conference finals, where they lost to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins.
