There's another head coaching job available in the NHL. On Tuesday morning, the Florida Panthers announced that they would not be retaining the services of interim head coach Peter Horachek, who took over behind the bench for Kevin Dineen on Nov. 8.
Horachek had previously served as head coach of the Panthers' AHL affiliate in San Antonio (and an assistant for the Nashville Predators), and had earned positive reviews for what he was able to accomplish with the Panthers' young roster.
"If they’re smart, they’ll stick with Peter Horachek,” former Panthers assistant GM Mike Santos told our Craig Custance in March. “He’s a terrific young coach. He’s a really solid guy, and I think the players responded to him.”
Obviously, that didn't happen, so what's next for the Panthers, and what's next for Horacheck?
