The NHL trade deadline came and went Wednesday afternoon, and it concluded one of the most intriguing trade periods in recent memory. We had our first captain-for-captain trade in some time, a vast number of goalies were moved, and several teams pushed themselves into the mix as serious playoff contenders -- a label that may not have applied before the deadline. Let's have a look at how some of the traded players will fit in with their new teams:
Martin St. Louis, New York Rangers: The Rangers sent a private jet for their new winger on Wednesday, and he was in uniform and skating on the team's No. 2 line -- with Carl Hagelin and old chum Brad Richards -- against the Maple Leafs. St. Louis finished the night a minus-1 with three shots on goal in 20:11 of ice time. We'll see if coach Alain Vigneault will keep Richards and St. Louis paired, or whether some new combinations will be hatched down the stretch.
