Based on the recent comments by Dallas running backs coach Gary Brown, Lance Dunbar could have an expanded role in the Cowboys offense in his third year in the league.

If Dez misses game action in '13

UPDATE: According to ESPN's Ed Werder, an MRI revealed that Dez Bryant has a mild mid-foot sprain. He may be limited in practice this week, but the Cowboys expect him to play against the Chiefs this weekend.

If he has a setback or ends up missing action later this season, you'll want to keep an eye on rookie Terrance Williams ...

The Dallas Cowboys got good news today when X-rays revealed no fractures in Tony Romo's ribs, but the fan base must be holding their collective breath when it comes to the sprained foot that Dez Bryant sustained Sunday evening. X-rays on the wide receiver came back negative, but he's now slated for further testing, according to ESPNDallas.com's Tim MacMahon.

Dallas Cowboys' defensive lineman Jay Ratliff will reportedly start the season on the PUP list. The veteran was supposed to set the tone up front for Monte Kiffin's new 4-3 defense. He'll instead miss the first six games of the season, and the Cowboys' defense may be better without Ratliff in the lineup.

Dallas' Frederick won't move from center

The Dallas Cowboys continue to dabble with offensive line combinations. It's latest incarnation has Doug Free at right guard, Jermey Parnell at right tackle and Mackenzy Bernadeau at left guard. The two constants have been Tyron Smith at left tackle and first round pick Travis Frederick at center. Frederick can also play guard, but the Cowboys don't expect to experiment with him the rest of the season.

When Miles Austin was learning the ropes as an NFL receiver, he returned kickoffs for the Dallas Cowboys, but they pulled him off those duties when he broke out as a pass catcher in 2009. He's never returned a punt. Could that change in 2013, now that he is 29 years old?

The Dallas Cowboys just can't seem to get their offensive line intact. The latest casualty is Ronald Leary, who had been slated to start at left guard. Leary will undergo arthroscopic surgery on Friday to repair his troublesome left knee. Per ESPNDallas.com's Todd Archer, Leary is expected to require two to four weeks before he'll be ready to return to action.
