Getting C Wells healthy
By Tom Carpenter
St. Louis Rams center Scott Wells underwent surgery to repair damaged cartilage in his right knee, an injury he sustained in his first practice after returning in November from foot surgery, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Jim Thomas. Wells played through the injury for the final six games of the season.
Despite the joint pain, Wells still had a positive impact for the Rams, as they allowed just 1.5 sacks in those final six games after averaging 2.6 per game without Wells in the mix.
His long-term health has to be considered a major concern at this point, though. Keep in mind that he is 32 years old and had surgery on the same knee last spring, which means that he underwent three total surgeries in about a seven-month span.
