Falcons O-line plans
By Tom Carpenter
The Atlanta Falcons are widely accepted to be one of the handful of teams that could make the jump from contender to champion in 2013, but much of their success this season will come down to how well their revamped offensive line performs. After watching the Falcons' rookie minicamp, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution had the following observations on what to expect from their O-line.
"The offensive line has to replace three starters at center, right guard and right tackle," he noted. "Peter Konz will move to center. Philipkeith Manley could take the right guard spot, but there were some whispers that he reported to the offseason program close to 380 pounds. So it looks as if a rematch of the Garrett Reynolds-Mike Johnson battle from the past two offseasons will occur. Lamar Holmes seems ticketed for right tackle."
ESPN NFC South blogger Pat Yasinskas isn't surprised by the Konz move and thinks that Johnson could be the key to how the Falcons' O-line depth chart plays out:

"That’s an obvious move since Konz was a center in college. But the other two moves aren’t quite as clear and Mike Johnson could end up being the deciding factor. He could end up challenging Lamar Holmes at right tackle or Garrett Reynolds at right guard."
