Jammer-to-Redskins still possible
By Tim Kavanagh
In recent weeks, one of the head-scratching developments has been the lack of interest in FA CB Quentin Jammer. Though he's certainly on the back side of his career, one would figure that a player of his experience and skill level would be of interest to a number of teams out there. The one team that's showed considerable interest is the Washington Redskins, though Jammer emerged from his visit with them without a signed contract. Thereafter, the Redskins drafted multiple safeties and a CB, further muddling Jammer's prospects with them, it would seem.
Nevertheless, the addition of Jammer has not entirely been ruled out, according to what John Keim of the Washington Examiner has heard. "If the Redskins remain interested -- still an if -- any dialogue would start anew this week. Waiting until after the draft and undrafted free agent signings allows Jammer to pick the best spot. But the Redskins viewed him more as a corner."
If Washington continues to pass, another club on which to keep an eye is Carolina, who has -- putting it charitably -- a questionable secondary heading into 2013.
