New backup QB for Cincy?
By Tim Kavanagh
The Cincinnati Bengals believe in Andy Dalton as their franchise QB for the time being -- having qualified for the playoffs in both of his first two NFL seasons -- but there could be an alteration to the rest of the stable of Bengal passers for 2013.
Veteran Bruce Gradkowski is a free agent, and it's unclear whether Cincy is interested in re-signing him. That leaves third-string Zac Robinson as the other returning QB, and Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com writes that the club may be looking to find themselves a developmental backup in the draft this offseason.
To be clear, the club isn't looking for someone to push Dalton, but rather a player that could step in for the TCU product in case of injury, without the offense missing a beat. So while players like Geno Smith, Matt Barkley, Ryan Nassib, Mike Glennon and others may be off the board in the first three rounds, the Bengals may try their luck with one of the others available on Day 3.
