Time for a Knapp
By AJ Mass
The Denver Post reports that the Broncos have hired Greg Knapp, the former offensive coordinator of the Oakland Raiders, to be their quarterbacks coach for 2013.
Certainly, when it comes to coaching Peyton Manning, you really just need a warm body. However, Knapp's hiring could mean a lot to Brock Osweiler, the heir apparent whenever it is that Manning decides to hang it up. The coach has had experience mentoring the likes of Michael Vick, Matt Schaub and Jeff Garcia.
While it is unlikely that the Broncos will convert their offense to the West coast-style that Knapp is used to running, especially since the previous quarterbacks coach, Adam Gase, was promoted to offensive coordinator, with the ability for Knapp to dedicate more time to Osweiler, perhaps a "new look" can be developed for the future while the team continues to let Peyton Manning do his thing in the present.
