Raiders get new OC

By AJ Mass

The Oakland Raiders have hired Greg Olson to be their offensive coordinator, according to an NFL source, and should announce the move in the next few days. Olson previously coached under Jon Gruden in Tampa Bay and has also been the OC in St. Louis and Detroit.

Olson's modus operandi is to use a power running scheme, which means that Darren McFadden could finally have a system in place that plays to his strengths, rather than the zone blocking nightmare that the team ran under Greg Knapp.

Greg Olson is Oakland's new OC
"Olson might not be the sexiest of picks, but as long as he fits the personnel and works well with head coach Dennis Allen and the rest of the staff, Oakland should be improved on offense in 2013 as it tries to build from a disappointing 4-12 season in 2012."
