Nassib to Buffalo?

By Tim Kavanagh

Ever since Doug Marrone was hired as the HC of the Buffalo Bills, there has been speculation linking the club to drafting Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib. That speculation only ramped up after Marrone tapped Nathaniel Hackett as his OC, as Hackett had held this position for him at Syracuse the past two seasons.

On Tuesday, Cecil Lammey of ESPN Denver passed along word from a scouting source that "the worst kept secret in the NFL Draft" is that the Bills want Nassib. Moreover, Lammey gets the sense that some believe the Syracuse QB won't make it to the second round; if this is true -- and the Bills want him -- they'd better take him at No. 8 overall or trade down only enough where they can secure him.

Though Jim Harbaugh didn't reunite with his collegiate prodigy Andrew Luck at the NFL level, we do have a recent example of this working out, with the Dolphins going with Ryan Tannehill after hiring former Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman as their OC. Will the Bills follow suit? We'll find out in late April.
