McFadden's future

By Tim Kavanagh

Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden is slated to make over $5.85 million in 2013 as per his contract, but there has been speculation in recent weeks that the club could cut him. As the team continues to decide who to hire as its next offensive coordinator, there is still uncertainty over McFadden's place on the team.

However, speaking this week, Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie seemed to indicate that there's no real controversy here at all. "I'm confident Darren's going to play his last season, regardless of what's out there," McKenzie indicated, per the Bay Area News Group. "We have no decision to do anything with Darren.

Though it's unclear who exactly is on the Raiders' radar (the Raidar?) for the OC post, one would expect that it would be someone that does not use the zone-blocking scheme like Greg Knapp, a system that produced 3.3 YPA for McFadden in 2012.
