Another WR idea for Miami
By Tim Kavanagh
As the offseason approached, it became clear that the Miami Dolphins would be addressing the WR position. Not only is leading wideout Brian Hartline without a contract for 2013, but even if they retain him, there's a need for additional bolstering of the group. Many have speculated that because of the connection with HC Joe Philbin, Greg Jennings makes a logical choice for the Dolphins. But he's certainly not the only option available.
In a column this week, Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post compares Jennings to two of the other available FA targets, Dwayne Bowe and Mike Wallace. After comparing the trio using six different factors, Volin concludes that Bowe is the best option of the three. Of course, both Bowe and Wallace may be the recipient of their respective teams' franchise tag this offseason, so they may not even be available. In that possible future world, Jennings jumps back to the top of the pile.
Here's ESPN AFC East blogger James Walker on the Dolphins' decision:
James WalkerAll three have their strengths
"All three receivers have their strengths and could help the Dolphins. Jennings would have the shortest learning curve, but it could come down to the best value."
