If Bradley is the hire...
By Tim Kavanagh
The Philadelphia Eagles announced Monday that they'd interviewed former Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt for their vacancy at the position, marking the 11th known candidate for the job opening. But later, they also made waves by confirming that they would be bringing in Seahawks DC Gus Bradley for a second interview, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
McLane notes that while this doesn't confirm Bradley as the front-runner, it does appear that he's at least a finalist; furthermore, there has been some chatter that the 46-year-old is now the Eagles' top choice. Bradley has also interviewed with San Diego, and Jacksonville appears interested as well.
If Bradley is hired, the next key steps will be assembling his coaching staff, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Bradley has worked with three different OCs during his time in Seattle: Greg Knapp in 2009, Jeremy Bates in 2010 and Darrell Bevell the past two campaigns. Knapp is currently looking for new employment after being fired by Oakland at the end of the 2012 season, while Bates is currently the QB coach in Chicago. Should the next Bears HC decide to relieve Bates of his duties, he could become a candidate for Bradley.
There are a number of other qualified OC candidates out there, but those would seem to be the options if he sticks to his direct, recent connections.
